Back in 1996, as a new Lion, I met Nick when he drove the Sightmobile down to Vineland. He was the first Lion outside of my Club that I met. Being new, I was just beginning to learn things about being a Lion. He very emphatically told me that I was a Lion, not a Lioness. No one had ever made the distinction to me before. That was the beginning of a long friendship. He was funny, sometimes irreverant, courteous to us ladies, always willing to tell you how things used to be, and just an all-around nice guy to be around. He and Lois were a wonderful couple. He missed her so much. I'm glad to have known both of them. In his later years, it was my privilege to drive him to some of the District meetings. He was glad to get out and see some of his Lions buddies and great company on the ride to and from the meeting.
He was a dedicated Lion and his presence will be missed, but never forgotten. And now, he will be reunited with his beloved Lois.
Please accept my sincere condolences and apologies for not being able to offer my condolences in person. I would have liked to be there. I will be out of town helping my Mom with my Dad.
