He was born in Camden on February 25, 1932. Leonard was the devoted son of the late Mary and Joseph Zubrzycki. He is survived by his adorable wife, Dolores (nee Branicki), whom he loved until the day he died. He is also survived by his daughter, Diane Cavalieri, whom he loved dearly and her husband Joseph and grandson Alan to whom he was great dziadzi. Dear brother of Joanna and fun uncle of her children, Donna Barto (Dan), Paula Rossi (Nick), Mark Thomas (Cindy), David Thomas, Lori Lamb (Angus). He is predeceased by his 12 aunts and uncles and many of his thirty three first cousins. He is remembered by many who knew him as dziadzi or uncle Lenny. Leonard and Dolores were high school sweethearts and were marred on June 6, 1954. They attended many family gatherings and had many of their own. They were party people and spent many good times in the Pocono Mountain resorts and the Jersey Shore. They took some vacation trips to Canada, Carolinas and Florida and were frequent tourists of Washington, DC and New York City, where they saw numerous musicals. Because Leonard had to attend scientific conventions, he traveled to cities in many states. He did a considerable amount of skiing, fishing and grudgingly gardening. Leonard kept close friendships with the high school forty-niners, at socials, luncheons and reunions. He was an active member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Branch of the American Society for Microbiology (EPASM), other scientific societies and the Polish American Citizen Club of Camden County (PACC). He was the founder and first editor of the newsletters for the EPASM and the PACC.
