I would like to extend my sympathy to the Zubrzycki family and am sorry to hear of Dr. Z's passing, and i also celebrate the fullness of his life described in the obituary. I was a graduate student in his lab in 1971, and am appreciative of his gracious down to earth guidance at that time. Although i changed fields a few years later and lost touch with most of my micro associates (except Maria, trusted lab tech in those years), the efforts of that time were an important part of my younger life. May you all have every blessing you need at this time, and may your Leonard rest in peace. with sincere wishes, Jane Buhl

It was with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of Leonard Zubrzycki. Dr. Zubrzycki served as a professor and researcher at Temple University's School of Medicine during my employment there as a Research Assistant II. Besides being an excellent teacher, Dr. Z (as he was affectionately known) was a kind, caring and compassionate person. My heartfelt condolences on his loss go out to his family. May the words of the poet Thomas Campbell be a comfort to all who are saddened by Leonard's passing: "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." A note to Leonard. Thank you Leonard for changing my life. If it wasn't for you writing that beautiful recommendation I don't think I would've ever been awarded an NSF scholarship/traineeship to study for an MS in environmental science degree at Drexel University. It opened the door to a beautiful and rewarding career teaching the physical sciences at Cherry Hill High School East. I remember looking forward to yourself and Dolores visiting with your gifts every Christmas when I was a small boy. You were always very nice to me. And I also remember your scientific discoveries (ex: that inexpensive and quick biological test for a specific disease) that helped make our world a better place. I'm sure you're in heaven! I'll pray for you always, Your cousin Albert L Young
