My Uncle Sam was a man known by many nicknames. "The Godfather", "Sam Sneed", "Smooth Sammy". No matter what you called him, he was a character. He had a zeal for life. Of all the guys I've played basketball against, I'd say Uncle Sam was as smart on the court as any. He used "whatever means necessary" to get the job done...even if it meant a hard foul. Above all, he truly loved his family. He cared for everyone he met and anyone who knew him knew they could count on him for a smile or a nice word. I looked at him as the centerpiece of a very, very large family that helped keep everyone together. God doesn't make one like Uncle Sam every day! God Bless you Uncle Sam...you will be missed greatly! I love you!

I am so sorry for your loss. I just saw Sam in October and we chatted and caught up, talking about the kids, Sammy especially. The love your father had for all of you was obvious.

Sam, You were a great guy, kind father, loving husband and one of the kindest individuals I have known. You, along with your wife Patte, certainly knew how to throw a party, always reachig out to so many in your immediate and extended families, trying to keep everyone in touch over the years. I will never forget your kindness to my Mom and I over the years. You fought a long and hard battle to get well after your stroke but it just wasn't meant to be. May you rest in peace and continue to watch over your family, just in a different way. Give my regards to all of our family who have gone before us. Have a good time up there in heaven. You deserve it. God Bless You! Love, Cousin Grace Ann

As a foolish young man I didn't recognize the awesome example that I've come to understand in my years as a husband & father. From his example I have been blessed . May he forever dwell in our Lords kingdom. May Gods peace and comfort ease the bitter loss felt by the many who loved him.

The Commissioners and employees of the MPWC were devastated upon hearing of Sam's passing. Sammy was vigilant, had a very strong work ethic, he demanded perfection of himself and all of his co-workers. Sam had a unique personality and added energy, enthusiasm and excitement to the workplace. Sam will most certainly be missed and his contributions will indelibly remain. Our thoughts and prayers are with Patte, all of Sam's children and grandchildren and relatives. May God bless and keep you all in his graces.

Sam, you've been the finest big brother anyone could hope for. You will be so missed. Words can't describe your loving, generous spirit; your true concern for anyone experiencing troubles; your great sense of humor; your love of athletics, and most especially your love of family and friends. May God continue to bless your soul as you rest in His eternal peace. Life will never be the same without you. We love you so!

Uncle Sam, may god hold you in his arms. My condolences to his wife Pat and his children and the rest of the family. I grew up knowing Sam as Uncle Sam, he was the elf to my fathers Santa Claus. They visited all children throughou Christmas eve. Sam you gave to my family love after daddy died, this man was a good loving person. His family meant everything to him. I will remember all those little girl days and beyond for the rest of my life. Dad and Sam would let me join in their poker games when I hit 13. Sam use to laugh at dad cause he would get mad at me for making a bad call, then torture him about it to the following weekend. I will always remember Uncle Sam, for the kind, loving man he is. RIP In my heart forever!
