"Mel" Tocco (nee Rifici) passed away on April 14, 2015 of Collingswood, formerly of Camden. Age 82 years. Beloved wife of Leo F. Sr. for 64 years and the only woman he has ever loved. Devoted mother of Charles P. (Theresa), Lola Lee "Tootsie" and Leo R. "Tink" Jr. (Michele). Loving grandmother of Steven (Ginger), Joseph (Connie), Helen, Danielle (Drew) and Mark and great grandmother of Ashley, Sara, Joseph, Jackson and Juliette. Dear sister of the late Charles V. Rifici. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tocco was born on May 1, 1932 in Camden to the late Dr. Charles and Hilda Rifici. She was a teacher for many years and started the Adult Learning Center which is now the GED Program. Mrs. Tocco was very intelligent and had many jobs and talents, she was a pillar of strength and very active in the community. She enjoyed going to the casinos, was very kind and generous and would give you the shirt off her back. Mrs. Tocco loved to cook and affectionately became known as "Mel" for Mel's Diner. You would always be well fed after a visit and would never leave her house hungry. She will be extremely missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday from 7-9 PM and Friday from 8:30-9:15 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at the Church of St. Joan of Arc, Parish of St. Josephine Bakhita, 3107 Alabama Rd in Camden, NJ 08104. Interment will follow at the Camden County Veterans Cemetery in Camden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lola's name to the church at the above address.
