Beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Jr.; Beloved mother of Janis Melfi, and Lynne and her husband Nicholas Vigilante Jr.; Beloved mom-mom of Nicholas III and Lisa Vigilante; Beloved sister of Dorothy Sobieski. A 1948 graduate of Camden High School; Mrs. Melfi was employed at RCA in Camden, NJ in the early 1950's. She married in July 1950 and was a loving housewife and mother. She was later employed from 1979 until 1993 as secretary to the Camden County Court Administrator. Mrs. Melfi loved and enjoyed her family, watching soap operas and scary movies, and funny jokes and stories. Her loving, kind and generous ways and great sense of humor will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday from 10 AM at the Church of St. Stephen, 6300 Browning Road in Pennsauken, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 in Mrs. Melfi's name.
