Dear Balzano Family, I am ver sorry to read about the loss of you dear loved one Joseph. Death is very much like a thief that comes and takes away our loved ones. Or due to unforeseen circumstances, old age and sickness, we loose that precious quality of life that leads to sickness and death. It's comforting to know that the bible always offers encouraging information in times like this. Please when you get a few minutes, read in you copy of the bible Rev.21:3,4 and Psalm 37:29. I am sure you will enjoy these verses and find them encouraging. May there be peace with you and family My Sincere Condolences and Prayers Mrs. R Younger

Joe was one of the most unforgettable people I have ever met. He and his brother Frank took me on a tour of the port and I could have spent hours just exploring his office. On several occasions I met him at the Church at Lourdes and he told me of the miracles that happened at this holy place. he then proceeded to serve as altar boy for Mass. The world is a much better place because of him. God surly has blessed us with his sharing of life with us.

Joe was a rare individual who meant so many things to so many different people. He was an institution....a bright beacon of hope and support in the City of Camden in the midst of so much dispair and blight. Through his many years, many people have come and gone having truly failed or given up on making Camden a better place. Through it all, Joe stood strong on his beliefs and anchored by his faith. He fought for what he thought was good for the city, not only through the auspices of the port, but as a friend to those less fortunate. Many of those wonderful gestures will never be known to most people. He instilled in me that "we are all each others keeper." And although he was far from perfect and he was frail as most human beings are, his heart was always in the right place. God bless you Joe and thank you for all that you have given me and my family.

It was always a very special occassion to enter Joe's office on the Beckett Terminal. To see the pride he showed to receive us from the steel mill in Holland, is something that sticks to my mind. And he would have told us stories from the past for hours, if we would have had the time for it.I shall miss that greatly on my next visit. I wish his wife, children and the rest of the family all the strength they may need to cope with this big loss.

Donna and the Balzano family: Joe was not only a friend, but a very special personal friend. We already feel the void here at the Monastery. I will miss seeing him at daily Mass and will miss the conversations we shared with each other. God has a special place for Joe in Heaven. Now he can intercede for us. May his soul rest in peace. God bless.

He was always there with a kind word and I will never forget the great times that all of us had with Joe. I only had one short opportunity to meet Mr. Balzano. He flew into Chicago this past June just to pay respects at my mother's wake. I never understood why my brother Robert had such deep respect for him until then. Only a man of fine character and deep compassion would make such an effort. I consider myself fortunate just to have been introduced to him. May the family be blessed by the knowledge of his salvation.
