"Sam" Iezzi, age 92 of Haddon Township, New Jersey, passed away on January 18, 2015 at Virtua Hospital in Voorhess, New Jersey. Loving son of the late Giuseppe and Theresa (nee D'Ambrosino) Iezzi; Beloved husband of Rose A. (nee Lomurno); Devoted father of Theresa (James) Hoyle, Joseph (Stella), and Marie (Darrin) Dezii; Loving grandfather of Michelle, Steven, Anthony, Matthew, Paul and Thomas; great grandfather of Chase and step-great grandfather of Elijah, Jack, Brady. Jenna and Ella; Dear brother of Yolanda (John) Cope, Lucy Martelli, and Emilio Iezzi; Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Sam was so well respected that he was chosen to be godfather to numerous family members and friends.  He was always driving his favorite Cadillac for nieces and nephews weddings.  Sam was a hard, dedicated worker and loved to volunteer for the organizations that he was so passionate about.  He also loved to share his war stories. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Iezzi was vice president of Dalco Manufacturing in Philadelphia.  After his retirement from Dalco, he worked another 21 years as a lens lab technician for LensCrafters in Cherry Hill until he retired at age 89. Mr. Iezzi was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II, fighting with General Patton in the Mystery Division, and with the Hellcats 12th Armored Division, and was a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient.  He also served as past commander for the Italian American War Veterans, Orator and past Vice President of Sons of Italy Aligheri-Garibaldi Lodge 494, a 4th degree Knight and Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council of the Immaculate Conception #3514 and Bishop Eustace Assembly #652, as well as a member of the American Legion and VFW. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday from 9 AM at the Parish of St. Joseph the Worker, Church of St. Vincent Pallotti, where Sam served as an usher since the church opened in 1964, 901 Hopkins Road, Haddon Township, NJ 08033, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery in Bellmawr.   The family requests memorial donations be made in his name to St. Vincent Pallotti Church at the above address OR to the Hellcats 12th Armored Division, 1289 N. 2nd St., Abilene, Texas 79601.
