Obituary of Ngoc Lam Le

Ngoc "Jade" Le, age 44 years of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden.

Beloved daughter of Hien Dihn Le and So Thi Nguyen.  Devoted sister of Hieu Le and his wife Trang.  Loving aunt of Mia Ha Le and Nathan Hieu Le and stepaunt of Jessica and Henry.  Dear granddaughter of maternal grandmother, Than Thi Nguyen. Cherished girlfriend of Jason. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and her dog, Rex.

Jade was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and at two years old, her family fled as “boat people” to the United States in search of a better life. She grew up enjoying arts and crafts, spending time with family, and music—especially Celine Dion. A highlight of her life was when Celine stopped her concert to autograph Jade’s poster, a moment she cherished deeply.

At 15, Jade’s life changed when she was diagnosed with a Rare Wilson’s Disease. This robbed her of the ability to walk, talk, or perform everyday tasks. Despite these immense challenges, Jade faced life with remarkable determination. Even after undergoing a leg amputation, she persevered through rehabilitation and achieved the incredible milestone of taking steps on her own.

What made Jade truly extraordinary was her unwavering happiness and positivity in the face of hardship. No matter what life threw at her, she radiated joy and inspired everyone around her with her strength and resilience. Jade reminded us all that, no matter the obstacles, “The miracle is from within.”

Her legacy of love, strength, and hope will forever live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the honor of knowing her.
