Obituary of Joyce M. Mariano
Joyce M. Mariano (nee Giannone) age 90 years of Pennsauken, formerly of Maple Shade passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024.
Joyce was born in South Philadelphia to the late Robert and Anna Giannone (nee Marcolf).
Beloved companion of the late Anthony Porreca for 50 years. Devoted mother of Janice Brill and the late Pasquale Mariano. Loving grandmother of Melanie and James Brill and great grandmother of Axel Frombach. Dear sister of the late Robert Giannone and MaryAnn Marrone. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Prior to retirement in 2020, Joyce was employed at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia for 56 years. She worked as a medical secretary in the Medical Staff Affairs office as well as in the Admissions Office at Jefferson Medical College. Joyce enjoyed trips to the casinos, spending time at the shore in Ventnor, going out to dinner, and entertaining. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family especially her great grandson, Axel.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 6-7 PM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 7 PM. Final disposition will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan Hospice, P.O. Box 71425 Philadelphia, PA 19176.
