Obituary of Carmen E. Mercado
Carmen E. Mercado, age 89 years of Camden, passed away on June 15, 2024.
Beloved companion of Jose Torres. Devoted mother of Santos Gonzalez, Milton Mercado (Patricia), Edwin Mercado (Stephanie), Carmen Leftwich (Charles), Ana Mercado, Jose Mercado, Luis Mercado (Norma), John Mercado, Nilda Lopez (the late Angel), Guadalupe Mercado, David Mercado (Elisabeth), Lisa Mercado, Noemi Mercado, and the late Rosa Torres, Carlos Cruz, and Leonora Gonzalez. Loving grandmother of 38 and great grandmother and great, great grandmother of many. Dear sister of Alma Caban, Luis Caban and the late Ramon Cruz. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Carmen enjoyed sewing, singing and cooking, not only for her family but also to feed the homeless. She could often be found shopping at flea markets and thrift stores, looking for bargains. Carmen loved to dress well and fashion was important to her. She was the matriarch of her large family and had a big heart. Carmen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 9-11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Pennsauken.
