Obituary of Lucy DeMateo

Lucy Maria DeMateo (nee Torres) aka Mom, age 88 of Camden, passed away on Saturday April 13th, 2024.  She was born on September 22, 1935 in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico.

She is the beloved wife of the late Claudio Mateo. Devoted mother of Maria Thomas (Wyniaco), George Mateo (Deborah), Migdalia McCray (the late Joe "Clyde"), Nelson Mateo (Vedette), and the late Lucy Rivera (the late Angelo). Dear sister of the late Gloria Esther Ortiz & Maria Torres.  Loving grandmother of 11.  She is also survived by many loving great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Lucy aka Mom enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, talking with her friends for hours, lending her heart and hands to anyone in need. Being in her presence settled the troubled mind and lightened the heavy heart. To say she will be missed is an understatement. Her loss is heaven’s gain as she will feed and love the angels in heaven as she did her entire life on earth. We all Love you Mom!!!

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 9:30-11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson.
