Obituary of Lorraine A. Schlett
Lorraine A. Schlett (nee Merola), age 72 years of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 16, 2024.
Lorraine was born in Camden, NJ on February 23, 1952, to the late Arthur and Helen (nee Augelli) Merola. Beloved wife of the late Skip. Devoted mother of Paul Schlett (Justine), Nicole Schlett, and Janet Schlett (Germaine Rosario). Loving Nonna of Giamanee, Lucia, Nate, Dominic, Gianna and Ezio. Dear sister of Denise Brutchey (Bill) and Artie Merola (Marisol). Cherished aunt of Eddie, Derek, Katie, Arturo “AJ” and Sophia.
Prior to retirement, Lorraine worked for over 30 years at Virtua Hospital in Camden, followed by 18 years of service at the Pennsauken Police Department, where she diligently performed clerical duties.
Outside of her professional life, Lorraine found joy in various activities within her community. As a devoted member of her church, Mary, Queen of All Saints Parish, Church of St. Cecilia in Pennsauken, Lorraine served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a part of the Art and Environment group, embodying the values of compassion and kindness. She also generously contributed her time to the PTA and Athletic Association at St. Cecilia's School, where she fostered a sense of unity and support among members.
Lorraine had a talent for baking, and her cakes were a source of delight for all who tasted them. Her dedication to her craft brought smiles to countless faces and added warmth to many gatherings.
Lorraine will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness, service, and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, knowing she made a profound impact on those around her, especially her loving family.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 6-8 PM and Monday, March 25, 2024, from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at Mary, Queen of All Saints Church, 4801 Camden Ave in Pennsauken. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
