Obituary of William H. Puhalla Jr.

William “Bill” Henry Puhalla Jr (87), of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully with family by his side on December 4, 2023, after an unexpected medical event. 

William was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (Tono) Puhalla; his parents, William H Puhalla Sr., and Ethel (nee Price) Puhalla; and his sister, Mary L Puhalla.

William is survived by his five children, Teresa and husband, Meighan Hogate Jr, Deerfield Street, NJ; Mary and husband, John Tilger, Collegeville, PA; William and wife, Elizabeth Puhalla, Oaks, PA; Eve Puhalla and partner, Mark Kehl, Pennsburg, PA; Susan Puhalla Kiddle and husband, Paul Kiddle, Teddington, Middlesex, UK; grandchildren Meighan Hogate III, Aaron Hogate, Elisabeth Hogate, Michael Tilger, Christopher Tilger, William J Puhalla, and Margot Kiddle; and longtime companion, Elinore Lynn Riley.

Bill was known by his grandchildren as "Big O" or "Grumpy" even though he was anything but grumpy. Bill was a friend to many and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Bill was from the Providence section of Scranton and was a graduate of Johnson College.

Bill was an avid firearms enthusiast, woodworker, motorcyclist, car enthusiast, car race fan, bingo lover, and, in his youth, roller skater. He worked as a small business owner and 7-11 franchisee. He previously worked at the Southland Corporation, Rohm and Haas, and RCA. Bill was also an Army veteran. Bill was the president and a founding member of the Langhorne "Gun Night" Club.

A visitation will be held on December 27, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Spring Mill Country Club in Ivyland, PA, immediately followed by a brief remembrance service at 11:00 AM.
