Obituary of Joseph L. Gerst

Joseph L. Gerst, age 84 of Pennsauken, passed away on December 7, 2023 at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees, NJ.

He is the beloved husband of Jeanne O. (nee Szalagiewicz); devoted father of Michael Gerst (Kyungsook Choi) and Jennifer Woolston (Joseph Jr.); loving grandfather of Tyler and Eric Gerst and Thomas Woolston; dear brother of Mary Ellen Panaro, Ruth Neel and the late Victor Jr., Leo Russell and John Gerst.

Prior to his retirement, Joe worked as a postal clerk for the US Postal Service in Bellmawr for 35 years.  He enjoyed going to the casinos and the racetrack, collecting coins and spending time with his grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Friday, December 15 from 9 to 10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road in Pennsauken.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the Church of St. Stephen, 6300 Browning Road in Pennsauken.  Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum in Chews Landing.
