Obituary of Daniel Sepulveda Torres
Daniel Sepulveda Torres, age 92 years of Camden, passed away on November 12, 2023 at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA.
Beloved husband of the late Maria Torres (nee Velez). Devoted father of Daniel, Jorge, Luz, Nancy, Angelo, Fabian, Eloiza, Lillian, and Pedro. Loving grandfather of Jaime, Maria, Lillian, Eloiza, Ashley, Bernardo, Kimberly, Pedro, Jesenia, Sergio, Fabian, Peter Daniel, Pablo, Jorge, Rafi, Juan, Joey, Jonathan, Moses, Michael, Danny, Juan, and the late Antonio. Cherished great grandfather of many. Dear brother of the late Rita Gomez, Hugo Torres, Maria Perez, and Aida Torres. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Daniel was a proud US Army veteran who served during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany during that time. After his military service, Daniel worked for over 20 years as a factory worker at Aluminum Shapes, crafting storm windows. Later in life, he became a bilingual and history teacher at Pyne Point Middle School, followed by many years as a corrections officer at Riverfront State Prison in New Jersey, where he eventually retired.
Daniel enjoyed reading, attending church as a Jehovah's Witness, and spending time with his Brothers and Sisters in the congregation. During vacations, he liked exploring historical sites. Daniel also enjoyed music from the 1950s, listening and watching Tango dancers, and artists such as Carlos Gardel, Julio Iglesias, Daniel Santo, and Felipe Rodriguez. Most importantly, he cherished spending time with his family. Daniel will be remembered as a humble and generous man and will be missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 7-9 PM and Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Falco, Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate
