Obituary of Ernestina Lopez

Ernestina Lopez (Soto), age 80 of Camden, passed away on January 23, 2023 at Cooper Medical Center in Camden. She was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on February 27, 1942 to the late Julio Soto, Sr. and Amparo Diaz-Nunez. Ernestina is predeceased by her beloved husband Gilberto Sr., beloved son Gilberto Jr., and beloved siblings Maria Alvarado and Tomas Soto.

She is the devoted mother of Jimmie (Virginia), Richard (Arlene), Jessie (Sharon) and Gregory (Gail); loving grandmother of Nefeteria, Tina, Bert, Richie, Lily, David, Michael, Brenda, Hector, Jessie Jr., Joshua, Malcolm and the late Veronica; dear sister of Julio Soto, Pedro Soto, Carmen Gallo, Pete Martinez, Isabel Loftland and Kiana Roman. She is also survived by many loving great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Ernestina was very religious, praying daily to the Nino Jesus and Virgen Guadalupe. She loved to spend time with her family, talking on the phone with her siblings and cooking – she made sure everyone was fed! She enjoyed watching Novelas, especially La Casa de los Famosos and EXOTLON; was extremely funny, and had a heart of gold.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 9:30 to 11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
