Predeceased by his loving wife Kathleen (nee O'Leary); survived by his beloved partner, Raula Stern, loving father of Michele Parkins (DuPont), Anthony, Annemarie, Nancy, Joan, Martin, Barry and Greg, grandfather to Laura Weiss (nee Parkins), Kim Parkins; Daniel and Genevieve DuPont; Joshua, Regina, and David DuPont; Victoria and Ana Baine; Eric DuPont; Brian Emmel; Jonathan, Jesse, and Joshua DuPont; great-grandfather of Ethan and Evan DuPont; Luke and Lea; Tyler and Fletcher Parkins; also survived by son-in-law, Kim Parkins and two daughters -in-law, Cathy DuPont and Linda DuPont. He is predeceased by his sister, Nancy Kerr. William proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Pharmacist Mate, 3 rd class and was honorably discharged April 20, 1946. He was the great-grandson of Wilfred W. DuPont, an Assistant Surgeon in the Civil War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 5147 - Precious Blood , NY, St. Mary's Rosary Society in Bath, NY. He was an advocate for the Pearl S. Buck Foundation and the Montessori School System, a volunteer for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, and was a political activist throughout his life. William's intellectual curiosity, critical acumen, innovative ideas and political insights were boundless. William was a long-time resident of Bath, NY and Mountain Lakes, NJ. After establishing his career as an Industrial Engineer at Westinghouse in upstate New York and Kueffel and Esser in Rockaway, NJ, William founded DuPont Graphic Arts in 1969 in North Jersey and in 1980 opened a South Jersey location. He retired in 1996. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Friday from 9 to 10 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 North Browning Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Stephen, 6300 Browning Road in Pennsauken. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
