Obituary of Veronica E. Brathwaite

Veronica Elizabeth. Brathwaite (nee Miller) of Jersey City, NJ made the transition on September 29, 2022.  

Beloved wife of the late Wilfred Brathwaite.  Devoted mother of Gwen Brathwaite, Dale Brathwaite, Julian Brathwaite, Jilleen Isaac and Shellon Small.  Loving grandmother of Natasha, Andrew, Rai, Syan, Mylah, Liam, Aedan and Avery and great grandmother of Ryan.  Dear sister of Rita Williams and the late Enid Miller, Joseph Miller, John Miller, Stella Miller and Edith Jemmott.  Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Prior to retirement in 2001, Veronica was employed as a Senior Head Cook and Supervisor of the kitchen staff at PS 9 Elementary School in Brooklyn, NY for over 25 years.  She was a member of the Unity East Church Center Choir for over 12 years in Brooklyn, NY.  She later joined Christ Baptist Church in Burlington, NJ and served as a member of the Women's Ministry.  Veronica was revered as the matriarch of the family.  She instilled Christian values in her children, grandchildren, and others she came into contact with. 

In her spare time, Veronica enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes with her family.  She liked to travel, and especially loved family vacations.  Veronica was a present force for every important milestone in her family's lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 10-11 AM at the Christ Baptist Church, 950 Jacksonville Rd in Burlington, NJ where a Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson, NJ.
