Age 89 Years. Beloved husband of the late Margaret T. ( nee Kirchgassner); Devoted father of Peggy Carr, Edward J. III, Colleen & John Mertsock and Daniel R. English. Survived by his precious dog Nugget, Loving grandfather of Kelly Ann, Kevin, Ryan, Elizabeth, Michael, Amanda, Danny & Mary. Great grandfather of Maxwell, Declan, Calli, Maddi, Raeghan, Maggie Frances and Kingston. Dear brother of Mae Cadged, and also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Prior to retirement, Edward was employed as an Electrician with Local 98, and working for the Inquirer for 42 years. Edward was also a proud Veteran serving for the Army. He was a corporal with the company of engineers 207 in World War II. Mr. English had won and received many metals and awards including a silver star. Edward also enjoyed walking his dog, painting, volunteering as a local crossing guard and especially enjoyed being an usher at St. Stephen Church. Relatives & Friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on FRIDAY from 8:30 to 10 AM at the Falco Caruso & Leonard Funeral Home 6600 Browning RD in Pennsauken. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Stephen 6300 Browning RD in Pennsauken. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
