JOHN 14:1-3
Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

We will never forget Pastor Martinez; his legacy is in Camden. God used him to serve our constituents on the Camden School Board, and in City Hall. He was a man of faith, a loving husband, and wonderful father. He was our spiritual leader to many of the elected officials. I will always be grateful to his guidance. His legacy will always be in our hearts and minds. My prayers and condolences to the family. God bless you all. Sincerely, Angel Fuentes, Camden City Council At-Large

My deepest condolences to the Martinez family. As a child I went to "Puerta de Salvacion", and played along with the church musicians with my yellow maracas. I enjoyed every single Sunday night and witnessed how Pastor Martinez praise God by playing his bass. Pastor Martinez always had a powerful message for the church and devoted Christian. He would always shake people's hands at the end of the service. " Se nos Adelanto". Dios Bendiga a toda la familia.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of a dear minister in the faith. He was one of my Bible Institute teacher who taught the Old Testament Books, especially the book of Ruth. My condolences to the family. He also preached in many of our youth revivals in the 90’s at the Sinai Assemblies of God Church in Philadelphia. Great teacher and friend.

God used Rev. Edwin Martinez to minister to me prophetically at least three important times in my life: as an evangelist the Lord used him to speak to me to prepare for leading the youth locally and in the Section, then preaching in my last service as Sectional Youth Leader and finally as Pastor he preached prophetically of my being re-elected as Presbyter one more time. Rev. Edwin taught me Evangelism in the Assemblies of God Bible Institute in Camden. Bro. Edwin was truly an evangelist, teacher, preacher, prophet and pastor but most of all he was a friend and brother. Thank you God for lending us such an example of a Man of God! Rev. Alberto Torres

One of my earliest memories of Edwin Martinez was of him slowly (and dramatically) walking down the aisle of Iglesia Puerta de Salvación to make his way to the front pews, hat in hand, right before the Sunday night service. This was back in the mid-80s when Jesús Manuel Figueroa was the pastor. Back then, we all knew Edwin Martinez as a powerful speaker, a well-known “evangelista,” who would play bass during the evening services. As an impressionable teenager, I was completely overtaken by the sheer power of his deliveries and rhetorical force of his words. The air seemed to crackle and pop whenever he spoke, and the room quickly shifted from dead silence to terrifying shouts in seconds. At times Martinez would even come to an abrupt stop mid-sermon to declare a direct and immediate “word” to or about someone in the audience! The whole thing was at once explosive, irresistible, petrifying, and irrevocably Pentecostal. God was there and we all knew it. The experience was mind-blowing and formative, especially for a young man like myself who was just discovering the Word. Edwin Martinez has thus remained one of the most powerful and indelible figures in my memory throughout the years—the figure of a terrifyingly fantastic storyteller and master speaker who created entire worlds when he spoke. And it was a world we were all lucky to inhabit for a moment. Requiescat in pace.
