I served with Louis in The Old Guard at Ft. Myer, Va. I met many people in my time there, but I remember just a few. My father told me when I enlisted in the army that I would meet every kind of person God put on this earth. I suppose I only prefer to remember the good ones, and Louis was certainly one of those. May my condolences bring you at least a bit of comfort and know that Louis will be thought about often.

I met Louie in 1976 Bravo Company "The Old Guard". We were good friends. Louie's Mom would send him care packages with pepperoni in them. I'm from NW Indiana and never had pepperoni in my life. Louie would share his pepperoni's with me. Louie and I went to Brooklyn to visit his Mom and he showed me all of NY and even where his Mom would buy the pepperoni's. So I started taking Louie to Indiana and he really liked it. He liked it so much that when he got out of the Army he moved in with my Mom & Dad. He got a job, bought a car, my mom would cook for him, wash his clothes. He lived with them for over 6 months and then went back to Brooklyn. Some how we lost touch, but Louie was a good friend, someone you can really trust and count on. He will truly be missed. I'm so sorry for you loss.
