Obituary of Joseph A. Cammarasana
Joseph Anthony Cammarasana, aka Joe or Joey Camm, age 92 of Galloway, passed away on June 6, 2021 at Woodbury Mews in Woodbury, New Jersey.
He is the devoted father of Joseph A. II, Michael J., Lisa (Joseph A.) Bruce, and James M. Cammarasana; proud grandfather of Emily Bruce, Juliet Cammarasana, Victoria Bruce, Allison Bruce and Simone Cammarasana and loving husband of Dorothea (nee Campbell) Cammarasana . He is predeceased by his wife of 33 years Marie (nee Simone) Cammarasana, parents Vincent and Anna (nee Basirico) Cammarasana, and siblings Bartolomeo “Leo” (Rosalie), Antonina “Lena” (Antonino Siviglia), Maria “Mary” (Salvator Tarantola) and Francesco “Frank” (Josephina). Joe also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that he loved with all his heart.
Joe graduated Woodrow Wilson High School, was drafted and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Marie (nee Simone) in 1954, and they lived in Glendale, NY until moving to Cherry Hill, NJ where he raised his family. Joe volunteered at St. Mary’s and was an usher at St. Thomas More Church in Cherry Hill. Joe was lucky enough to find love again later in life, marrying Dorothea and welcoming her 4 children into his life. Joe lived his life to the fullest and worked in the vending industry. He loved to play golf (including the 19th hole), was known for his dancing (if you could keep up), was quick with a joke, frequently seen with a cigarette and an extra dry martini and never missed “Sunday with Sinatra”. He will certainly be quoted and missed for many years to come.
