Born in Camden, NJ, on March 13, 1923, he was the beloved son of the late James and Julia (DiBiaso) DeMayo. Beloved husband of the late Christine (DiRenzo). Devoted and loving father of Julie (Tom) D'Alesandro, Dennis (Martha), Donna (Mark) Matera and James. Loving "Poppy" to Dennis, Christine, Victor, Anthony, Christine, Brian, Gabrielle and William. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and a 1954 graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania , a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church for over 40 years. His greatest joy was telling stories about growing up in Camden, attending Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School , and reminiscing about the old times. He was the most devoted Joe DiMaggio and New York Yankees fan ever. No matter how many times we heard he same stories they always made us laugh and cry. But most of all was his constant grieving and devoted love for our mother, Christine, who passed away October 10, 2004. A day didn't go by where she wasn't mentioned and thought about, always bringing him great sadness. He is now joined with her for eternity. He will be gravely missed. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Wednesday from 8 to 9:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road .
