My deepest sympathy to John an family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Monique's passing. I met Monique in 1985 and started working with her, immediately becoming friends. I always enjoyed my time with her. Her kindness and her gentle soul drew so many people to her and will always remember the times I shared with her with great warmth.
May the passage of time bring you comfort and peace-
Susan Godfrey

Monique was a good friend. I think about her every day. She never said anything negative about others. Monique never made you feel uneasy when talking about any subject. She was a good listener. Monique loved to talk about movies and politics. Chuck and I always looked forward to going out to dinner and a movie with Monique and John.
Monique was a very intelligent woman. She mentioned that her sister was very bright. I told Monique that she is very intelligent too. She just smiled. Monique smiled a lot. She was a pretty, beautiful soul.
Monique loved to talk about her daughter Julie. Monique mentioned many times that Julie found a great guy and how Julie was happy and successful. Monique also showed pictures of her grandchildren and how they were growing up so well.
She was a beautiful woman in so many ways. I will always think of her and miss her for she was a true friend. Perhaps the Lord took Monique because she reached perfection.

Monique was one of the finest people I have ever had the honor to call "friend". She was as beautiful inside as she was outside and was always there to listen and share a smile. Monique never had a negative word to say about anyone. I admired her and will miss her terribly. My sincere and deepest condolences to the wonderful group of family and friends she left behind.

As everyone has said, there was only one Monique. So sweet. So genuine. Just so nice! I didn't really know her so much when we went to school together but then we reacquainted ourselves in 2005 when we worked together. She was such a class act. She would buy a large candy bar and give it to me on Monday and then come in every morning for a bite and some conversation. She said if she kept it at her desk the whole thing would be gone in a day. That was Monique. She loved bringing her grand daughters to the Christmas Tea. She loved to talk about her own daughter. She had a real love for her family. I will miss Monique at upcoming functions which she always loved to attend. She will never be forgotten.

A piece of my heart and my past memories of my teenage years went to be with our Lord today. I was the maid of honor at Monique's marriage to Paul. She was a beautiful soul and after losing touch for many years, finding our friendship was a blessing. Taking our Granddaughters to Christmas Tea was a highlight of these past few years and I was blessed to have re-kindled our friendship. May you Rest in Peace my beautiful friend. My prayers go out to John and her family.

My husband and I have been doing family genealogy for some years. During a visit to John and Monique's home one year, Monique hands me a box of pictures and a large old, old tin-type photo album. She said all of the people are my relatives and my grandmother had identified who was in the pictures with dates and locations for many. It was a treasure trove. Then Monique said, "They are all yours". This was a gift beyond belief. To this day, they are the crown jewels of our family genealogy. Her kindness will be remembered and passed thru the generations.

When Monique and John were married, it was on her niece's, Tacy Bankes's, 9th birthday. However Monique, on HER special day, had the band play a special song for her niece, Tacy, who danced with her father before the guests. The very loving gesture will always be remembered.
