Rosemarie Domenica Maloney Passarella was born December 16, 1940 to the proud parents of Angelina Lopergolo Maloney and Anthony Maglione Maloney on a Monday morning. My Father and Mother were so Happy to see their little girl come into this world. The photographs I witnessed indicated My Parents were so Happy and Proud. Rosemarie was named after both her Grandmothers, on my Fathers side she was named after Rose Spedicato Maglione DeRosa and on my Mothers side she was named after her Grandmother Maria Nicola Notartomasso Lopergolo.
My earliest recollections of real live experiences of my Sister Rosemarie include:
Rosemarie when she came home from High School she would always bring me home a bag of Planters peanuts, she knew I loved them, I would put them on a little tray and we shared in eating them- that gesture told me a lot about my sister- she was always giving everything she had to the Family, even when she had very little to give. That was a LIFE lesson!!!
Another Life lesson, Do not pull a car in front of you towards yourself—my mothers car rolled out of the garage on top of my leg, my Mother and my Sister Rosemarie pushed the car off my leg, my Mother was not so Happy fooling around with her 1950 Blue Plymouth, Rosemarie came to my rescue and gave me a BIG hug, I was a little bruised, but OK- I witnessed Caring and Compassion my sister displayed to me.
I could continue for hours, but Rosemarie was my BEST FRIEND- MENTOR- and MOTHER She always answered the phone, 767 0017, I can still hear her answering the phone- I would call her every day when I was younger, that number will always be engrained into my memory.
She was the Mother, when my mother died, we were all young, Rosemarie was only 25 years old and she had to care for and mentor 5 Sisters and Brothers, it was not an easy job. Anthony, she always had so much patience and understanding with him, he was special and he needed much Attention and Love, he missed my mother dearly, he never recovered from her loss. In my office I have a Trash can Rosemarie bought Anthony, it is the only material memory of my Brother Anthony.
When I was young- all my older Sisters took me everywhere, even against their will, Probably one of my Mothers Insurance policies, so the Girls would not do anything they were not suppose to do- I was her eyes and ears in their Social lives- sometimes called my Mothers PET.
I remember When Rosemarie and Gus first start dating during 1961, Gus had a brand new Chevrolet Impala car, and Rosemarie just Loved driving it, eventually it became her car. I was always over the Waterford House, Saturdays ,I would help Gus Grease his excavation equipment, then it was Cheese Steak night, that was the BEST. Almost every weekend I went to their home, after delivering my newspapers.
Gus Confirmed me, that meant I would have my FIRST real suit of my own, I wore that suit until it was not wearable any longer, Rosemarie helped me choose my BRAND NEW suit.
Any time I had any issues in my life, Rosemarie was always there to Listen and Protect, then give a solution. She had very good Guidance, Wisdom, Patience and always wanted Peace among the family- she was indeed the Glue of the Family, Like most Mothers would do. She had the task of peace maker since 1966. She never wanted turmoil within the family, that would upset her dearly.
I am reminded by a bible verse according to Matthew when I think of my Sister Rosemarie:
"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
My Sister did an EXCELLENT job for what she possessed in life, I do not mean material possessions, the Maternal, Loving, Caring, Compassion things she instilled and taught to me, for I am, eternal grateful.
Rosemarie, when I talked about the Children, especially her BELOVED Grandchildren, Her face lit up like a Christmas Tree. She wanted to live to 89 years old like Grandmom DeRosa, she did the Dialysis for the ones she loved Dearly, not for herself.
On the clear minded times when I would visit with her in the final days, we would talk, like we always did, she did not want me to ever know the magnitude of her illness, she always talked in a positive and nurturing way- How is Mariana?, your Grandchildren,? The Children are very SMART and they are BEAUTIFUL was her description. Mariana is a Good Wife, do not ever leave her side- Rosemarie always said Mariana was a GOOD and CARING person, that no one could say anything negative about your wife---and she is a terrific cook!
I know that Rosemasrie would want the remaining family members to stay close each other, RESPECT each other and do not COMPLAIN, CRITICIZE OR CONDEMN with each other, we are only here on this earth for a relatively short period of time, so let us not Judge each other, ONLY GOD will do the judging. So take the time to LOVE and have COMPASSION with each other as Rosemarie demonstrated over the years.
In Jesus name we PRAY, that Rosemarie is now in our Heavenly Fathers arms and is welcomed by all those dearly departed that she Cherished her entire life. May GOD Bless her and GRANT her eternal peace, until we come together to meet Jesus and her once again, AMEN
