Dear Eddie, Kathy, Karen, and Eileen,
We want you to know how sorry we feel about the loss of Mr. Labenz (that’s his name for us), he was like a parent to us (might as well have been). We have so many stories of our parents together, we are laughing and crying at the same time. We are so grateful for what your parents did for us when we were kids, taking us camping, Hershey Park, golfing, baseball games, and including us in everything. Please know that your parents have always been in our hearts and minds and will be forever.
God bless you Mr. Labenz, you were a truly good man.

Dear Eddie, Kathy, Karen and Eileen I just found out and I just wanted to tell you how very sorry I am.. Your dad was my Godfather and he always made me feel special! I have so many wonderful memories of growing up with you guys and your wonderful parents. I remember when the 711 opened up down the street from your Pennsauken home and your dad would give me money to get him cigars and of course, get myself something or being able to spend the night at your house or was taken on vacation with you guys. There is nothing in my heart but love for him. I will never forget how wonderful he was, my heart is breaking. Rest in peace my wonderful Godfather. Your loving Goddaughter, Sharon. . .

Karen, my deepest condolences to you and your entire family. I may not know the man, but from the things I just read, and knowing you, he seems to have lived a very full and admirable life. I have great respect for the men and women who served our country in WWII, when a monster tried to take over the world, and people of good conscience and brave heart stood against the rising tide and said no, evil will not win.
