Schmidt Sr. passed away on March 6, 2013; Beloved husband of the late Alberta V. (nee Benton); Devoted father of Richard G. Jr and his wife Shirley, Lorraine and her husband Walter Hans, Louis W. and his wife Cynthia. Loving grandfather of Michael, Jennifer, Christopher, Louis and his wife Melissa, Richard G III and Susan; great grand father of Tyler; also survived by many loving nieces & nephews. Prior to retirement in 1986, Mr. Schmidt was employed at RCA in Camden for 38 years. After his retirement, he worked as a crossing guard on Federal Street in Camden. He was also  a proud US Marine Veteran who served during WWII. He was very loved and cared for by his faithful neighbors and his family believes he would not have been able to stay at his home, if it wasn't for them. Mr. Schmidt enjoyed cooking, crabbing, playing cards and was an avid Phillies fan! Relatives & Friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Monday from 9 to 11 AM at the Falco CARUSO & Leonard Funeral Home 6600 N. Browning RD  in Pennsauken, where a Funeral  Service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will  follow at Bethel Memorial Park in Pennsauken.
