Dear Lisa and family, I''m so sorry to hear of my old buddy Butch's passing. It's been many years since we've been in touch but I still remember fondly so many great memories it seems like yesterday. I met Butch in 1975 at the river road basketball courts in Pennsauken. This was before organized AAU ball so If you were serious about working on your game you rode your bike and got there right after dinner. Since there were usually 15 guys waiting to play it was always win or go home. Needless to say the games were rather, uhhm, spirited. Our nights would always end around midnight exhausted at 7 11 arguing about the nights games. ( later this would move to the Olde English Tavern Butch was a regular member of our unique street ball fraternity which cemented our friendship into adulthood.
Continued, sorry This sports connection led to us going to eagles phillies sixers games, vacations shore houses, parties and to finally to our weddings. Lisa, whenever I think of Butch and you with Butch it always brings a big smile to my face. He was at his core a good gentle soul who left us way too early. It was a privilege to call him my friend. My deepest regrets and condolences to Lisa and all the Dionne and Wilhelm families. Butch, I will remember the great times we had together. The cross country trip ending in Hawaii still ranks up as one of the best times in my life. We definitely lost one of the nicest guys I've ever met. RIP Butch, we will all miss you.
